Nigerian Government plans national digital map

The Federal Government on Tuesday announced that it had commenced moves aimed at putting together a national digital map that would help curb insecurity across the country.

The map would further help in improving the country’s economy as the recently inaugurated Economic Recovery and Growth Plan was largely dependent on the map

Digital map would also be of great help to the Transport and Logistics industry which also play a major role in the economy. WIth the advent of e-commerce, Its is an added advanatage to them because deliveries would be faster, momement is easy for both delivery companies and mortorist..


-Easy to search locations and find the quickest route from  a current  Location to a desired location

-Acces to information on places of Interest as well as looking into the available transport options

-Digital map are easily updated, with this motoriist/ commuters can easily track a location they are not familia with.

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola while inaugurating the newly appointed president said that “in these days of digital mapping and global security challenges, your responsibilities are not made easy at all. But some people have done it before you, so there is an opportunity to leapfrog.
